Amendment 3 is not just a tax issue, it is a local services issue, which includes libraries.

Before you vote, understand what is at stake for the Nassau County library system if this amendment passes: 

• Amendment 3 could mean fewer library hours -  already, effective October 1, the Fernandina Beach library will no longer be open on Saturdays; the Bryceville branch library will close October 1. 
• Patrons may have less access to books, programs and technology.
• Nassau county families depend on libraries for storytime, summer reading, homework help, books, Wi-Fi, and safe places to learn. Amendment 3 could put these services at risk.
• Seniors, students, job seekers, parents, readers and small businesses all use libraries. Amendment 3 could weaken the local funding that keeps libraries open and serving everyone.  
• A library is more than a building. It is staff, books, technology, programs, meeting space, trusted help, and open doors. Amendment 3 could put ALL that at risk.

That's Not All...

Amendment 3 would not only impact our local libraries but statewide would also mean:

• Local governments would have less revenue for local services.
• Parks, cultural programs, public safety, roads, and animal services as well as libraries could face pressure.
• The amendment would phase in major changes to non-school property taxes.
