Our Top Priority...

is to promote literacy and lifelong learning.

Learning is a never ending Process

Our Mission

Friends of the Library is an all-volunteer organization

…whose mission is to promote literacy and lifelong learning in our community through programs, advocacy and fundraising for the Fernandina Beach Library.

Activities that help us accomplish our mission include the annual Story Telling Slam and the used Book Sale held each spring and fall. We regularly host guest speakers, provide educational programs, arrange outings to nearby places of interest, hold events and assist at Amelia Island events that benefit the library such as the Shrimp Festival parking.

Libraries transform young lives,
opening their world to the joy of learning

Libraries allow universal access to information—an important benefit when difficult
economic conditions limit the amount of information available to many who are struggling.
