Our book sales have roots back to the establishment of Friends of the Fernandina Beach Library. We have progressed from book cart sales in the library to renting the Peck Gymnasium for our three-day biannual sales. The book sales are our premier money-making event and all proceeds go to the library. For us and all of our dedicated volunteers, it is a labor of love. We collect donations along with sorting and cataloging the donated books all year round. As our Spring and Fall sales approach, the pace picks up and we add logistics, sign preparation, scheduling, poster distribution and even more volunteer recruiting to our agenda. Our book sales have become the event that is happily anticipated by not only Fernandina Beach readers, but also by many from other states who plan their visits to our town around the sales!
