Friends of the Library Presents Florida Highwaymen Artist

Friends of the Fernandina Beach Library is offering a free art exhibit and presentation by Florida Highwaymen artist James Gibson. Mr. Gibson, one of the few surviving members of the original group of 26 African-American Florida landscape artists who came to be known as “The Highwaymen,” will present his paintings and give a talk on his experiences and history with the Highwaymen on Thursday, May 18th at 6:00pm in Burns Hall at St. Peters Episcopal Parish, 801 Atlantic Avenue, Fernandina Beach. Computer Class: Second in Series

Deryck Burnett, owner of Megabite Computer Services, is bringing his computer expertise back to the Fernandina Beach Library.  This month’s topic will be: “Browsers:  what they are, how to navigate them, and why Google Chrome stands out.” Participants need not have attended the first session, but class size is limited to 14 students, so sign up quickly. Friends of the Library 2017 Spring Book Sale

The Friends of the Fernandina Beach Library’s 2017 Spring Book Sale kicks off Thursday, April 27th, with a special FOL members-only preview from 5-7 pm at Peck Center Gym, 516 South 10th Street. If you are not a member, you are invited to join at the door and get first choice of thousands of books, CDs and DVDs for sale. Please Stop Book Donations for FOL April Sale

The Book Sale Committee would like to thank all of our generous friends and neighbors for contributing their books for our Spring sale, which takes place at the Peck Gymnasium on April 27th through April 29th. We will put a short hiatus on collecting donations starting April 11th in order to allow us to finish organizing the over 600 boxes of sorted books for the sale. Once we reach this point in preparation for the sale, we do not have space to accommodate large donations dropped off at the library...
